Sundae for iPhone
Numbers on a countdown mean nothing to a time-blind brain. So here the timer is an ice cream that melts. This one below is real. Start it and look away.
A 25-minute session, sped up
Runs in this tab. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored.
Most timers punish you. A broken streak, a withered plant, a red number. Sundae has none of that. Pause it, close it, forget it. Nothing withers and nothing is lost. Streaks only ever celebrate, and if you miss a day the app says nothing at all.
Lounge Mode is an official do-nothing timer. A sun sets over the sea while you lie flat, and finishing a rest keeps your streak alive. It is the only productivity feature I know of that rewards you for stopping.
In the iPhone app the melting scene lives in a Live Activity, so the phone can sit face-up on the desk and you still sense time passing without unlocking anything. There are twelve scenes across three worlds: a candle burning down, a night train riding home, a snail crawling toward a strawberry, and more.
A sea otter keeps you company through the whole session, naps when you nap, and floats in the melted sundae when you finish. He does not have opinions about your productivity.
Free tier is a full timer with three scenes. One-time $9.99 unlocks everything. Never a subscription. Works fully offline, no account, no tracking, no data collected.

What time blindness actually feels like
It is not that you lose track of time. It is that time never registered as moving.
Why countdown timers do not work for ADHD
A number is not a sensation, and the setup screen is a wall across the hardest moment.
Visual timers for adults, not just for kids
The tool is good. Almost every version of it is shaped like a classroom object.
Body doubling, explained
Nothing about the task changes. Someone is there, and suddenly it is possible.
Time blindness is a common ADHD experience: time does not register as something passing, so a countdown showing 18:42 is just a fact you read, not a thing you feel. A melting object works differently. You do not have to read it. You glance, you see it is half gone, and your body understands. That is the whole idea, and it is why the melt is rendered live rather than played back as a video.

No. Stepping away just naps the session. Nothing withers, nothing is lost. Wake it up anytime and the timer continues where it left off.
Yes. Sundae uses Live Activities. Your scene and countdown stay visible on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Allow Live Activities when the app asks.
Every scene, Lounge Mode, and the full collection. One $9.99 purchase, yours forever. Never a subscription. Use "Restore purchase" in Settings after reinstalling or switching phones.
On your device, and only there. Sundae works completely offline, with no account, no tracking and no servers. See the privacy policy.
Background audio should keep playing. If it stops, check that Silent Mode is not on and that no other app took over audio playback.
It is the same melt, ported to run in your browser. The app adds the Lock Screen Live Activity, eleven more scenes, ambient sound, Lounge Mode, the collection, and Pebble.
