Shelfbook collects nothing about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising. Your prices stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud.
Nothing. No account, no email address, no advertising or device identifiers, no location, no usage statistics, no crash reporting of our own. We run no server that your data could be sent to.
Shelfbook uses the camera only to read a shelf tag. The text on the tag is recognised on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device text recognition. The photo itself is not saved: it is used to read the tag and then discarded.
The one exception is tag thumbnails, a Full feature that is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings, a small crop of each tag you confirm is kept in the app's cache on this device so you can see it next to the record. Thumbnails are not synced to iCloud, the system may clear them when storage runs low, and they are deleted when you delete the record or the app.
The items, prices, stores and shopping list you record are stored in the app on your device. If iCloud is turned on for Shelfbook, they are synced through your own private iCloud database, run by Apple, so your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account can see them. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Data leaves your device in any other way only when you choose: for example, when you export a CSV file and share or save it somewhere.
Reading tags and recording prices need no network connection. The only network traffic Shelfbook causes is Apple's own iCloud sync (if you use it) and Apple's StoreKit, used to offer the in-app purchase and to check whether you already own it.
The one-time purchase Shelfbook Full is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. Shelfbook only asks StoreKit on your device whether a valid purchase exists, and unlocks accordingly.
No advertising, analytics, attribution or tracking code is included in the app.
Shelfbook is rated 4+ and does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. Deleting the app removes what it stored on your device. To remove the synced copy, go to your iPhone's Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and delete Shelfbook's data. Purchases can be restored through Apple at any time.
If a future version adds anything that sends data off your device, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the app will ask you first.
